Car Park and Surfacing Delivered for Eton College
Slatter Estates Surfaces were given the honourable task of constructing a significant new facility at Willowbrook in Eton College.
The main focus of the new amenities is two sand-dressed artificial turf hockey pitches, each measuring 101.4m by 61m respectively, and a smaller 59m by 27m training pitch. All are paved with FieldTurf Gold Elite synthetic grass, conforming to the FIH National Performance Standard.
Slatter Estates Surfaces designed a large 52-space car park with a barrier entry paving grid, tarmacadam access road and section 278 connection to the adjacent highway. It is connected to the sports pitches and new pavilion by tarmacadam and resin-bound gravel pathways, illuminated by bollard lighting.
The new build has an engineered macadam construction combined with a lateral drainage system and an in-situ bound rubber shock pad. Illumination of the two main pitches is provided by 60 2kw floods on columns reaching 15 metres in height, giving 500 lux illuminance. Each pitch is enclosed by 868 rigid panel weld mesh perimeter fencing and furnished with a full set of sports equipment.
